Girls went back to school.

Had to teach some classes today.

Woke to an icy day.

20 degrees.

In Florida.

My little piggys have been chillly all day.

The day came and almost went and I still did not have a picture for today.

Nothing was inspiring me.

I took a long hot bath.

I walked out to find one daughter making homemade chocolate kisses.

The other all wrapped up in a blanket with hot coccoa.

Watching her favorite movie/musical.

Mama Mia!----

Inspiration and opportunity was all around.

I took 42 pictures.

Thats what we photogs do.

Right????

I decided on one that may not show exactly what was happening.

But her personality is shining.

So far it has been a great year.

Boss took us out to lunch today.

Girls spent the day with their grandparents.

First day back to work.

It was a good day.

It was a short day because it is still a holiday.

Kids are still home from school.

Weather is turning colder.

It has been a nice calm day.

Went grocery shopping.

Made a nice pot of beef stew.

Scrapped 2 pages.

Yes!

I scrapped.

For the first time in months.

Was going to upload.

Then realized I have a new printer and computer.

I have not uploaded the programs I need yet.

Maybe after work tomorrow.

I did take my 1st picture of the year.

The first for my capture my 365.

I wanted a family photo.

But family would not cooperate.

I did manage a photo of Amanda.

A normal teen. In her favorite place.

On the computer.

With her headphones on.

Listening to music.

Maybe another day I will get the family shot.

Just Maybe!

But in the meantime.

Here is my day 1.

It may not be the way I wanted it to be.

But atleast I started.

And I have to remember each shot will not be perfect.

The process will not be perfect.

But, I will still continue.

I have to learn that everything does not have to be perfect.

I like to have resolutions for the new year, but I do not like calling them resolutions.

I prefer to not really call them anything.

This year I am referring to them as my 12 in12.

1. Cook at least one new recipe each month.

2.Scrapbook at least one page per week.

3. Complete my capture my life 365 plus one..

4. Finish 8 more classes towards my degree.

5.See the sunrise on the coast and the sunset on the other coast all in one day.

( I live in Florida so this is achievable)

6.Get and keep my house visitor ready.

7. Go camping.

8.Have dessert at Bern's Steakhouse.( Cherries Jubilee or Bananas Foster)

9. Go to a fair/carnival and ride the Ferris Wheel.

10.Spend quality time with my girls.

11. Have a savings account, with money in it.

12. Go to New Orleans. The place where I was born.

These are in particular order.

None is more important than the next.

They are just my 12 in 12.

Wish me luck on my journey to complete them, or on my attempt to be consistent in my journey to complete them.

I know I do this every few months. I start and everything is going great and then all of a sudden....boom..I stop. Well, I am going to start again. Will be things be different this time? I really hope so. That is part of my 2012...One little word. Consistency! I need more consistency in my life. My kids need me to be more consistent. My work needs me to be more consistent. Will I succeed? It is not always about the destination or the completion, but about the journey I will take to get there.

One more thing I will be working on is my Capture 365 plus 1. I have started this the last 2 years and again, I have never been consistent with it. But, when I look back at the photos I do have, it inspires me to go for it again. I think I am a bit better organized and a bit more planned out than I have been in past years. I have a visible display area for them in my home, that I am hoping will be my daily reminder.

Back to life as I want it.......?

Not what has really been happening the last few weeks. Life tossed me a few curveballs but you turn so many times and you end up back on the track you started. I am back to my blog, my camera and my scrapbooks....the things that make me....ME! So thanks for everyone that has been there for me. Watch out paper and glue eaters....I have been scrapping away the last few days and have lots to share with you in the next week or so.

I dug these photos out of the box of pics from childhood, because I thought they were perfect for the theme of this month's challenge over at My Mind's Eye. You had to use the sketch below and the theme April Showers.

During homecoming week, the kids have dress-up days. For character day Amanda was at first unsure of what to dress up as...then a light went off. She loves to watch NCIS and loves the character of Abby, played by Pauley Perrette. She has that little bit of bad girl side while still be a good girl and using her intelligence. Amanda found a black tee and a skull iron-on. She got a lab coat and even made a cafe=pow cup. She colored her hair black...for the day. What a day that was. I took a few pictures before she left for school and thought they worked great with this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch.

Yes, the sketch is a 2-pager, but since I rarely scrap 2 pagers anymore I turned it into a single, but kept the bones of the sketch. I used Crate Portrait collection for this.

Kimmy has the possibility of being added to next years WinterGuard team at Springstead High, because there are no middle school teams in the county. It has become Amanda's job to have her ready to go by October....so they have been practicing everyday. I captured these shots of Kimmy the very first time she was trying to twirl rifle! It took a little while but eventually she caught one or two. It is going to be a long summer.I mad this layout of that day using this months sketch over at Scrap with V..a new blog that I recently found and love..you have to check out all the inspiration and ides over there.
I used the new Basic Grey Hello Luscious line, the colors are so happy and bright.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Kimmy's science fair project this year was on diffusion and osmosis. To prove her hypothesis, she "grew" gummy bears in different solutions. These photos worked awesome with Jillibean Soups Atomic Soup line.

Every Sunday Creative Scrappers post a fabulous sketch. I do not often to get play along...atleast not in a timely manner, but this week I finished the last 2 sketches.

This photo was taken when we were walking along the beach watching the sunset on Honeymoon Island a few weeks ago. The water was really cold and Kimmy was staying along the edge.

He is my world...though many days you may not know it...and I may not feel it. Without him there would be no me..no us....no anything. He may not be much to everyone else but he is my world....for better or worse until death do us part.These photos were taken on our 18th wedding anniversary at Flagler Beach. When I first took them I was not sure I was even going to scrap them...just having fun taking pictures. Then when I saw this weeks sketch at Sketchy Thursday I knew they were the right photos for it.

I turned the sketch and added lots of layers. I love this My Mind's Eye line..very masculine colors. Along the bottom I was playing with rolled paper...sorta reminded me of buoys at the beach.

Late on Wednesday evening and I am just getting around to finishing this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch...yet again. I always have such good intentions because I an always so inspired by their sketches, but life seems to always get in the way...right up until the last minute. This week I really "stretched" the sketch, but love the way it turned out. I really wanted to be able to use both photos of Amanda on this layout. This Bo Bunny line( Vicky B) has to be one of my favorite..and to think I was maybe not going to get it, because I was not sure of what it would like in person. Boy, am I glad I splurged..I love the colors, the embellies and the patterns.

More layouts and post coming soon...Winter guard has finished and actually have 3 weeks until the first Saturday band practice starts again.

This week Crate Paper offered up a fantastic sketch challenge. I had so much fun with t. Used the new Emma's Shoppe for my layout. I love the colors and designs in these papers and thought they went perfectly with this picture of Kimmy. When I first purchased these papers I was afraid I would not be able to use them on my current photos, because my girls are older. I was so wrong. These papers can easily work for my pictures of the older girls.

I used Playhouse paper for my base, and layered on some of the book strips from the Book paper. I cut some squares from the Quilts paper. This really helped me to capture the essence of this picture.

This has to be one of my favorites from yesterday. I absolutely love this picture of Amanda..I wish it was not so blurry....new camera will not be here soon enough. Hey FujiFilm...are you sure you can't release your new cameras before April 15th......I need it now!!!!!!!!

This is for the March 7th Sassy Lil Sketches sketch. Lots going on in this sketch...love all the layers and room for dimension.
I chose to use fancy Pants Togetherness line for this layout because I rally liked the subdues patterns and prints, as they do not take away from the photo itself, they just compliment it.

For anyone who has not figured it out already... I love Sketches. I love to flip them, turn them, manipulate them ..any which way I love Sketches. This week I fell in love with the sketch over at Sketchy Thursday to be their April GCT, part of the challenge was also to use spring colors...that was a little tough for me. I am more of a fall color type scrapper. Here is my take on this challenge.... I have had this pic of Amanda and Dan since early spring last year...they loved spending time gardeing together. When The new Bo Bunny Vicky B line arrived on my door step yesterday afternoon I knew it was perfect for this pciture. I especially love the "growing memories" sticker.
But wait, I loves this sketch so much I used again for this layout. My favorite toy as a child was my Simon game. I hate that they do not make this game anyomre because I know my kids would love it. We spent many many evenings playing this as a family and it holds many good memories.

I am fully German, but hubby is partly irish....so the girls love St. Patty's Day. amanda was actually upset it did not fall on a school day...she really wanted to dress to the nines covered in green and shamrocks.

We do not have real traditions for today, but it appears that we are starting one. Last year, I was trying to be a good mom( lol) and make green eggs and ham. Well, when I started cooking th ham steak it was GREEN, and I did not add anything to it. We ended up eating at Carraba's for dinner. Yesterday our fridge and freezer decided to stop making cold air.....so I joking asked Dan if we are going to Carraba's for dinner tonight..and he said I guess we are going to be starting a new trdition...Italian on St. Patty's day.....lol! Atleast I can get myself some green beer!

On a side note...I love that Dan bought the extended warranty when we got our fridge. Not only will it get fixed for no money oop, but I will re-imbursed up to $200.00 for all the food that spoiled. Way to go hubby!!!!!!!

That is the question they asked this past week over on the Cosmo Cricket blog....and even though I am aware there is no chance in H.....L, I love the sketch and love Cosmo,( who doesn't) so I had fun playing with the sketch. Some lucky lady is going to be published in my #1 favorite scrapbook magazine...SCRAPBOOK TRENDS! Just in case you have been living under a rock...or a pile of scrapbbok papers, scissors, ink or whatever else is covering your desk...you have to peek at this magazine. It has the best inspiration pieces and stories.
I love the fact these 2 awesome companies have teamed up. What a great combination!
I used some old photos I just found stashed in a box, man did they bring back memories. Not, that I am sure I would want to go back to that time...even though it sure was great. I am feeling old though, as I have only 2 years until Amanda is wearing one of these robes.
I chose to use one of my favorite lines.. Circa 1934. The colors worked perfectly with the colors of our graduation robes and tassles. I love the chipboard emebellishments along with the fabulous cardstock stickers.

I do not think she will go into fashion design....she hardly even carres if her clothes match. But she does love to draw and create. this Project Runway design toy was a big hit last year after Christmas. I really liked this sequence of pictures and thought they were perfect for this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch.

Used lots of my older Cosmo Cricket on this as well as lots of stash stuff....thickers, Sassafras Lass alpha. I love using pieces off the paper borders on my layouts...like the material girl and inspiration tags on this one.

Here is a catch-up on my project 365. Still going strong.

Day 63-- Amanda after her FBS concert band performance. Straight excellent's on performance, straight superioir's on sight reading. Day 62-- Starawberry smoothies...awesome afternoon snack.
Day 61- Amandas gotta a new bag. Her other backpack broke.
Day 60- The crew walking home from school...actually missed Kimmy in the picture because she walked up to take Mollie for a walk.
Day 59- Chillin in mom's bed, playing on Guffins....just chillin out before bed.
Day 58- Happy good eats...Kimmy and her Gingerbread chocolate chip cookie. She gave him a heart.
Day 57-- Only the best place to get a cuban. Picked one up on our way to get a new stove.

Day 55- Amanda immediately after having 4 teeth pulled. So sorry baby...but one day you will be happy about this.

Day 56- Dan being Dan....yeah I am taking a picture of you...what you gonna do about it????Day 54- You have to love depositing a check at 6am...being able to do this via ATM makes life so much easier.
Day 53---Dan bought me a new scratch-off ticket. Took me almost 20 minutes to scratch it and find out I won $10.00.
Day 52- loving my new paper racks for scrapbooking. Dan even helped me put them up. Now he wants me to fill them up.... He does not know what he is asking...shopping here I come!
Day 51-- Kimmy made daddy peanut butter cookies all by herslef.

Day 50- 2nd place again at Plant City High. So proud of you girls...keep up the good work!Day 49--- Amanda and Hannah..Hannah spent the night.

give me the news...... Kimmy is not the Queen of Operation. She got this game last year for Christmas, played it with us one night, could not get anything out without it buzzing. It has been in the closet ever since. We used to play this game all the time......atleast I managed to take a picture the one time she did play it.

I love the sketch this week from Sketchy thursday.....one of my favorite sketch sites. I wanted to do something happy and bright. I just got these new papers from Teresa Collins and love the orange and pink color combination. I used some strand beads that I have had forever and also some pictures of Amanda from her second year of dance.....she looks so small and yet so much the same.

As soon as I saw this Sassy Lil sketch I had a million ideas in my head.....although the layout I completed is nothing like any of them. Isn't it weird how sometimes you see one thing and think you know where you are going and end up in a whole different place. They always say a sketch is just a starting point, a piece of inspiration....use it however you want. Well this is very different from the sketch, but I promise it was the basis for this layout. I love the color of this KaiserCraft Seaside line. The primary colors looked great with these photos of Kimmy .....jumping and bouncing galore at the mall bouncing thing.

It is a moody Monday here...I am a bit under the weather, looks like I manager to acquire the girls had last week.

Had a great Saturday at Plant City High School for guard competition. The girls took 2nd place again.....really proud of all of them. Amanda had no drops or misses, though she did have one bobble but managed to keep her composure. Pictures below are mostly for Grandma as is the video at the bottom.

It is Monday, so that means it is Meal Plan day

today was a weird day...you can tell it is a Full Moon Friday.
I went into work, but was sent home early. Partly because of census and partly because if my horrid spider bite.

Dan had to have his truck towed home on a flatbed....lucky we have AAA. It looks like it will not be to bad of a fix...some kind of heater hose broke.

Amanda is having her friend Hannah spend the night...last time that happened our whole world exploded...although it really had nothing to do with her...she just got caught in the middle.

I did manage to get all of my p365 photos uploaded ...so here we go.

Day 47- we have street lights on our street, a good and bad thing all at the same time.

Day 46--my spider bite,,,they think it is a brown widow. All I know is it hurts and keeps getting bigger.
Day 45--Amanda stayed up to almost 11 pm finishing Kimmy's science project for her. Just the gluing of the board, Kimmy did all the work, What a great big sister.
Day 44--Dan and Kimmy at Texas Roadhouse on our impromptu Valentine's dinner. It even came with free appetizers, because they thought they were running behind...we did not even complain or think they were taking a long time.
Day43- This is what I found carved into the ice on my window when I got up to take Amanda to practice this morning.
Day 42-- This is what was on my fridge this morning....looks like mr. Lead Foot was driving again.
Day 41- Kimmy curles up on Buddy and Beau reading her new book.
Day 40--my favorite radio station. It is always on in my truck.
Day 39- Amanda home sick on the couch.
Day 38- Our Valnetines "mantle"..actually piano top.
Day 37--- a happy Sunday morning with the paper in the driveway. Thanks Mom and Dad for a great gift!
Day 36--The Springstead Eagles Winter Guard after completing their first competition...took 2nd place! Way to go all!
Day 35-- Kimmy walking into Grandma's to spend the night.
Day 34--Amanda taping her rifle...green and white. Grandpa's old school colors.....or Jets colors according to her.
Day 33--The gummi bear project.....will they grow??????

Day 32--Sushi for dinner.....yuck! But Amanda is loving every bite!
Day 31- Kimmy, Kleenex, and Puddin....all curled up and feeling under the weather.
Day 30--First time ever doing Outback to go...and the last. Now I remember why we never eat here.
Day 29-- Kimmy had a blast getting and opening and playing with her Valentine's card from Grandma Kitty......it was interactive!
Day 28-- Amanda and I having a girls night dinner at TGIF...had a great night and a good talk.
Day 27-- Helping out a friend in need...what he always does. Jumping Jimmy's truck..and it worked.
Day 26--Report card day....for better or worse.

THINKING--- I really need a hot shower and sleep.
LISTENING---the dishwasher...we really need to get it fixed, or get a new one.
WEARING-- my favorite old navy flannel bottoms and tank
DRINKING---caffeine free diet coke...it is too late for anything else
HOPING-- tomorrow is a great competition and Amanda does not have any drops or misses.

I cannot believe another week has gotten away from me. I had a fabulous Valentine's day yesterday. My dear hubby went out and bought me a sub from my favorite cheesesteak place and brought it to work to eat lunch with me. Then, our census dropped and I got to go home early.....had to work on Kimmy's science project with her so this was a good thing. Went to a quick little guard parent meeting about finals and then to an impromptu dinner at Texas Roadhouse. They felt like it took them to long to get us our appetizers( we did not, and did not complain or anything) so they took them off our bill. Then home and up till midnight finishing Kimmy's project...but it looks good.

Thought the phone might ring this moprning and I would get cancelled, but no such luck. So here I sit, at work, blogging away. I so wish I could upload my photos from here. Need to remeber to put them in my online picasa so I can do this.

Yep...it is that time of year again....Superbowl Sunday! I am a football fantatic...I really love the sport. So who am I routing for this year????? I really do not care who wins........as long as the score ends with the pakers having a 3 or 9 and the Steelers having a 7or 5........as long as that happens and it is a good game I will be happy.

Yes, it has been awhikle since I updated but my internet service was out all of last week. I will be back in the morning with tons of updates and pictures.

Let me start off with I wish I was here:

But since I am not I thought the least I could do is share a few of my favorite things coming out at the show.First off by Crate paper is this amazing line called Boarding Pass
Next up is from Cosmo Cricket and is called Social Club...totally reminds me of my grandmother. Both the name and the papers...it is a must have for me,
along with this one called Upcycle. I am loving Cosmo this year!
There are many many more and I can see I am going to be working lots of overtime in the next few weeks....thankfully I am couponing more now and that should help.

Week in review Wednesday...

This has been a nice week...nothing big happened..yeah! I got alot of house work done, and alot of my grocery shopping. Couponing really is addicting and can be time consuming if you let it...but I have extra $$$$$$ money in my wallet. every little bit helps and a vacation may actually be possible soon.
365 this week has been easy....not even like a chore...it has definetly become a habit. The kids are even asking every night before bed if I have my picture. Here is this last weeks worth....

Day 25-We had a nasty rainy evening with tornadoes around and strong winds and rain. We even cooked and ate dinner around 4, just in case we lost electricity.

Day 24---this could be any day after school for her. She always has on her band sweatshirt and checks the mail after school everyday.
Day 23--- Kimmy loves walking Mollie. Ms. Loretta was feeling under the weather and asked if Kimmy would come walk Mollie for her.....of course she loves doing this...and Mollie does too.
Day 22---- really???? Hot chocolate in a margarita glass......only you! Gotta love it
Day 21-- I actually convinced dh to go on a date night, so I had Amanda snap this shot before we left.
Day 20----Manda teaching Kimmy how to do crunches the right way..... this should be interesting
Day 19--- Amanda being a great big sis and ppainting Kimmy's nails......tooo bad Kimmy was not so nice on the recieving end. Because she was not getting the exact design she wanted.

Worked an extra shift today so that I can have Friday off...that means lots of extra scrapping for me.....keep your eyes open.

Monday my reveal of WRMK's Family Keepsakes line went live over ACOT.

I had a great time with these papers, the colors are really really fantastic. My favorite project has to be the altered/rejuvinated chalkboard that I made for my kitchen.
I love my orangey/rust colored walls....but they make for horrid photos.

Project 365 is really going well. I love having a buddy to help keep me on track. I have even convinced a fried at work to give this a try...Go for it Kami, you will not regret it.

Day 11-- finally out of my phone( thanks to Ashley) is Amanda bagging groceries at Sweetbay...good practice for a future job. I may have to show this picture to some grocery store managers.....lol

Day 12-
Amanda and mom having a final fitting for her guard costume. Thanks for making this mom!
Day 13- A positive behavior note from Kimmy's 2nd grade teacher. She adores him so this really means alot to her.
day 14- yep he did it. I should know better than to let him out of the house to visit Casey. Dan is loving his new 60 inch baby, with internet and Netflix already in the tv.

Day 15- Amanda smiling from ear to ear with pure happiness after completing her first guard competition and she had no drops!

Day 16- I scream, You scream we all scream for Ice cream....yes even in January!....we do live in Florida remember.
Day 17- came home from work to Kimmy asking me if she was old enough to start shaving her legs......after telling her that it would be soon, she said oops....she had already done it.
Day 19- Kimmy made Safety Patrol...she is loving wearing her florescent yellow belt.

Off to wake up Amanda, she has been asleep since ten last night......cold cold go away please!

Also need to finish up some laundry and get started on the baked ziti for dinner tonight.

Sketchy inspiration....

Jess over at A Cherry On Top has issued a blogging challenge to keep us all blogging right along through this new year. Each week she gives us a list of ideas or prompts for us to use on our blogs. This week one of her prompts is about what inspires US creatively. Currently sketches and sketch blogs have really been helping spark my mojo. I tend to take a sketch....print it out and start drawing and adding notes all over it. It looks like a disaster when I am done sometimes. Then I peg it in front of my desk and get to work. My end result does not always even resemble the sketch I started with, but it is a big inspiration in many of my layouts.

Here is an example of how a sketch inspired me this week. As soon as I saw this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch I knew exactly what photos I wanted to use. I was drawn to the vertical lines and the photo placement, even thought I ended up only using 3 photos.
Crossing the line is about Kimmy's first time out of the state of Florida, something she had wanted and dreamed about for a long long time.

Lately, I have also been inspired by linear, straight clean line layouts. Especially those of the fabulously talented Julie Bonner. She is my go to scrapper of the moment when I need a pick me up or a bit of inspiration. I am sure you can see much of her inspiration in my recent layouts.....okay I down right copied(lifted) many of her ideas and designs. She also just happens to be a superb sketch artist. You have to check her out...I know you will be inspired too.

Tonight I will be working on a layout using the fabulous new line Be Mine by Echo Park. I already have all the papers, embellies and pictures spread across my desk. I had every intention of working on it last night, but science fair procedures and deadlines got in my way. LOL

Check back tomorrow for my week in review for my P365... I have not missed a day yet and I psyched that a good start will help me continue on the path to a good year.

Rainy Days and Mondays....

I woke to rolling thunder this morning. It is still dark and dreary and will probably be that way all day today. It is a good day to be at work. I never accomplish anything at home on days like this. It is blanket and movie weather.

On a sunnier note...Amanda and the SHS guard Premiere went really well on Saturday. I love the yellow sunshiney flags..they just make you happy! She was so nervous but she whirled and twirled with no drops! even on the sabre.

We learned a few things along the way...

--how to apply makeup in the back of a moving van.

--trying to seat 17 people together for dinner on a Saturday night without a reservation( even at a buffet) is not happening!

--3 different gps's(although the same brand) give 3 different sets of directions to the same place.....lol. Atleast we all got there!

BIG BIG NEWS and a Bo-Bunny Sketch

Big big news.......No I am not pregnant.....my brother is moving out and getting his own place. yes....just in time for his 33rd birthday! LOL
It is almost sad in a way...the only time we really talk is when I see him at my parents, and now he wont be there. He is growing up....a real job and a house!

Since we are on the subject of my little bro I thought I would do a layout about him... I love this weeks sketch by Bo-Bunny and decided to use it to create my layout.

He is big into running, biking and swimming....my little triathlete!
this year he participated in the Cooter ( meaning turtle... get your head out of the gutter....lol) Triathlon and he finished first in his division. This was the first time he finished first. Way to go little bro....really proud of you!

Used Bo- Bunny block party for this. Love the blues and greens along with the stars.

My debit card and lace samples needed for Amanda's color guard uniform. After a trip to Tampa and not being able to find, ordered it over the phone...$85.00 for 2 yards. She better love for this. My wedding entire gown did not cost that much

Our backyard was full of little birds. Kimberly grabbed some bread, her binoculars and her bird book and had a terrific afternoon.

Day 5-
It is a good thing Dan did not see Puddin stealing my Chicken and dumplings from the table.
At least she liked them...nobody else did.....we ended up order pizza...lol

Got good news first thing this morning..great way to start a Monday!
Finished up some scrapbook layouts and errands.

Meal Plan Monday--

today was suppose to be baked ziti, but about an hour ago I looked into the kitchen an dh was making himself the last of the ziti noodles for lunch:( , so I guess it will now be chicken fajitas

Tuesday---will be on the road for the inauguration

Wednesday-- Chicken and Dumplings

Thursday-- Baked potato soup with ham and cheese croissants

Friday-- Stroganoff crock pot meatballs over egg noodles

Saturday and Sunday---- hubby cooks because I will be a work

Day 3 of p365...have not taken my picture yet but have a few ideas. Also have a new buddy to help keep me going thanks to Sara over at A Cherry On Top...she thought it would help to buddy us up so we have a little more accountability.

One little word for 2011

Have you chosen yours yet???? It took a little thought but I have finally chosen mine

HARMONY
Always aim at complete harmony of thought, word and deed.
This is the quote that sparked my word for this year. I have a few more that I am sure I will be posting periodically.

harmony --noun
a consistent, orderly, or pleasing arrangement of parts; congruity.

right now my thoughts, words and deeds are not even in the same key, similar to an elementary school band, each doing their own part but no two in agreement. How do I plan to achieve this harmony? through lots of trial and error I am sure...and then lots of practice. In being clear in my thoughts, saying what I am thinking and assuring that my deeds follow both. Each piece must learn its part individually, practice it and keep practicing it before they can come together as one in perfect balance and harmony.

A little deep for 2nd day of the year I know, but I am intent on making some personal changes this year. Maybe because I am turning the BIG 40, but mostly because I want a year and life marked by happiness. Not just for me but for my friends and family , and according to my dh that all starts with me. So here are a few things that make me happy, in particular order( lol)...I went with 11 since it is 2011
1. A clean house
2. family dinners at the dinner table
3. time to scrap or create daily
4. one on one special time with my girls
5. bubble baths with candles, quiet music and brown sugar scrub
6. photography
7. family traditions
8. sunny days, all the windows open and the stereo blasting
9. having an occasion to get a new outfit and wear it, even if it is just shorts and a tshirt, new shoes are a big plus as well
10. Gain detergent with Febreeze and Downy
11. Hometown tourisitng....picking a place in our home are that is a touristy area...then going and playing tourist for a day or two.

Took my first picture for the first day of Project 365.... it was going to be a picture from our New Years Eve party, but when I got home both of my girls were wearing the jammies grandma made them....so I snapped a quick shot, nd they even smiled for me. Not usre what todays is going to be yet... the girls are at lazer tag and I am at work, so we will see what tonight brings.

I am happy that 2010 is past.
It was a good year for the most part...nothing tragic happened, nothing life altering.
It was a year of growing and learning, of understanding , a year of surviving the little things.
It was a year of diconnection in the family....everyone going their own way, yet somehow staying together.

It has been 9 whole days since I last blogged sorry about that.

It has been 7 whole days since I have touched paper or scissors to scrap. I am going to have withdrawls....I can feel it. I am shaking and my idea book is overflowing while my pics are piling up.

So where have I been and what have I been doing you might ask to cause all this? I have been volunteering as the official photographer of the Springstead Eagles Marching Brigade. It is band camp, which means 2 weeks on intense practice and marching. All day in the disgusting Florida heat and humidity, but I would not miss it for the world.
Things will be back to normal this weekend...after the Saturday car wash.

Hope everyone is having a great start to August...just wanted you to know I have not fallen off the face of the earth.

Band camp day #1

Today was the first day of Amanda's band camp...but is it hot out there. Although I really hate that the kids are out in this, I know they love it. They got a lot accomplished...first 12 sets actually, the whole first song. Amanda is happy because most of this song she does not move at all...lucky girl. Will be back out there all day again tomorrow so my posts this week may be scarce, as will be my scrapping time. Hope everyone is having a great beginning to August.

Smooch Smooch..I guess instead of receiving birthday kisses I was more interested in planting them on little boys. he was like a litte bro, but still, I was a little hussy I guess.
Did this layout for the color combos galore challenge this week.
After looking at the inspiration board I was feeling very girly and pretty while making this layout. It is a little bit frillier than my norm but I am really really happy with how this turned out.

Design Dollies has a new sketch up this week. At first I was not sure what direction I was going to go in, or what photos to use. The sketch is terrific, but I was stumped. Then I saw these pics of Kimmy and I in our 3-D glasses from Hollywood Studios and I knew what I was going to do. I love these little journaling cards by October Afternoon. They made the perfect background for my layout.

yep, that is my Kimmy and I would not have it any other way. While taking pictures of her new hair-do the other afternoon, she had had more than enough and walked right up into the camera. The resulting photograph inspired me to create this layout.

I have always heard that purple is a color of power and passion...she is both.

Used the yummy BoBunny line Peacock Lane on this layout. I turned the swirl upside down and glittered the sticky side with Martha Stewart glitter. Butterfly is Tattered Angels and misted with their glimmer mist. Threw in a few Seven gypsies sticker.

that is the title of my new favorite song, and it just so happens to be how I am feeling today. I can not believe it is Friday already. What happened to this week. I had so much to do and I feel like I accomlished nothing at all!

Hopefully, tomorrow will bring me better luck as I have a long to-do list and need to get it finished.

One good thing did happen today so far... I am a self confessed blog stalker ( I have over 400 on my bloglines that I follow) but I have never done a blog hop, not sure why. Until today that is, I actually did one and had a blst. So much fantastic inspiration along the way...I can't wait to do another! I am sure I will be doing from this point forward. If you are a routine blog hopper or not you need to che3ck out this one over at My Mind's Eye, it is for their one year birthday and you will have a great time.

oops..fell asleep

I had every intention of posting yesterday, but I worked all day and then fell asleep watching the All-Star game. I am so disappointed the National league won. Hoping to have a better day here at work and be awake enough to post some pics and layouts when I get home tonight.

Also, I have decided that I have sucha huge love for Bo-Bunny and all their products that I am going to take the plunge and do this. I am aware that my chances are slim to none, but if I do not try then I have a zero chance, so I am going to do it. You should give it a try as well. They are an awesome company and always have fantastic new products that are the bomb!

Today is the last day before my vacation is over. Back to work tomorrow, actually looking forward to it. Spent today tiding up some loose and running errands. Laptop went with Amanda so she could work on some algebra so I have no pics to post until after she gets home later tonight.

Monday- Baked Ziti
Tuesday-BBQ grilled chicken and carrots with rice
Wednesday- Grilled London Broil with baked potatoes and green beans
Thursday- Tuna Noodle Casserole
Friday- Macaroni and cheese with Hot dogs( everyone has plans so it will be get it when you are home)
Saturday-Sour Cream pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn

I love sketches and when Bo-Bunny posted this sketch last week I knew I had to do a layout for it. The biggest problem I had was which of their awesome new lines laying on my desk I should use. I settled upon the Peacock Lane line with all it happy bright purples and blues. Not only did they compliment this photo of Amanda right after she had her braces put on, but they are her favorite colors as well.

I used Bo-Bunny chunky letters that inked in a matching purple then topped with glass microbeads. Although you cannot see it in the scan. I also ran a row of the microbeads along the top and bottom edge of the polka dot paper.

I will have many more layouts to share tonight and tomorrow as I have been a scrapping fool. Hope you are having a good weekend.

When I first saw this weeks sketch for Sketchy Thursday, I was not sure what pictures or paper I was going to use. Then last night as I was looking for different pictures, I set these 2 pics down on top of my stack of newer papers and bam...it matched and I was off to work.
I am sure my hubby will not be happy when he sees this title but...oh well!

Sorry about the bad scan.....I really need a new scanner.......a 12x12 one would be really cool....hint hint hubby!

Finally I am able to get some photos from the 4th uploaded...we had a block party with about 50 people even though it was a cloudy drizzly day everyone had a great time.

Even the little ones were a bit to loud for my neighbor Sean

Darts was the game of the day since it was a bit dreary outside

Yep...we have had a lot of rain the last week, but I am not complaining. I am actually enjoying the rain! I have cleaned a few closets and drawers, enjoyed some movies and scrapped a bunch. It had been nice to not have the sun blaring and the temp rising.

On a side note...I am really missing my Kimmy as she has been at her Grandma's for 3 days now...I know she will be home less than 3 hours and I will want to send her back...but for right now I am missing her. I even felt guilty going out last night to get a Sonic Creamslush and not getting something for her....

Vacation starts at 7:30 tonight.....ao days off and I can't wait. I have lots on my scrappy plate to accomplish. I even have a list of photos to take , now if only my subjects will cooperate.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and safe holiday weekend! Ours is starting off a bit wet and soggy but hopefully it will clear for our street party on Sunday!

Beads Beads Beads and more Beads....thats what you get after a day at Gasparilla. This was out 10th straight year going and it was as fun as ever. already looking forward to next year.

Today our 2010 census came....should be fun to fill out. Atleast I will not have to do it for another 10 years.

Today is just a lazy, recovery day. I did finish a layout that i will post shortly, but right now i am chilling out watching some football. Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for a good week.

Day 18
My mom called and wanted to go threw some of the older photos we have, and the ones that were my grandmothers. Amanda joined me, and had fun learning lots of family things she did not know.
Day 19
Yep that is a chicken nugget she is dipping into her Wendy's Frosty. She has done this forever and does not like to eat nuggets from anyplace else, because she has nothing to dip them into.

I did this one after going threw old photos with my mom and Amanda the other day. My 4th grade class pic. I used the Creative Scrappers sketch for their 24 hour contest, but I did not get it uploaded in time.

Blogger is giving me a headache this morning so everything is going to be in separate posts I guess.

and I did not get anything accomplished, not that I normally do when I am working. tomorrow is another day, and since my mojo is working I am hoping to lasso a little bit of free time to finish the layouts I have in my head.

Day 14
Kimmy enjoying a meatloaf and mashed potatoes MRE that she got from Grumpa Chuck. She was suprised at good it was, and it made her stop and think about the soldiers out there eating just this every day. She also thought the fact the "toffee rolls" were Tootsie rolls was hilarious.

Day 15
Amanda and Hannah donned their funky 3-d glasses to catch the late showing of Avatar...according to them the best movie ever made.

Day 16
While I was getting ready for work this morning I was very surprised by the amount of "smell good" stuff that the girls had in their bathroom, especially since almost all perfumes give me an instant migraine headache.

Day 17
The Sunday paper, something I usually only get every other Sunday when I am at work. If I have the day off, we usually get to late of a start to get one.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed some football playoff games....next week should be atleast one good game.

A layout and 365 days 12 and 13

This layout is for a sketch blog that I found recently and have completely fallen in love with...Sketchy Thursdays. I loved using bubble wrap and Stickles, along with this awesome line from Glitz Designs, called Plum Crazy. Purple is not a color I would normally scrap with, but I love this line.

Day 12
Dan and I went to the park today for a picnic lunch, at the park where we got married.

Kimmy finished up her drawing of a Littlest pet shop...she did a fabulous job

Today is back to school day , so I grabbed a shot of Amanda getting ready for school.

Day 10
Kimberly went with mom and dad up to Dunellon to see one of the last Sunday Samplers...the band playing was Patchwork. Kimmy walked the tracks and picked up some old railroad ties.

Day 9
Florida had a blast of arctic air, we had some sleet and snow flurries in the morning...Kimmy caught this piece of ice in a box after it rolled off our roof. The high today was 38!

I did manage to finish 4 layouts and a card yesterday, but did not get anything uploaded. Maybe by Wednesday. It is a lovely 15 degrees out right now and I need to head off to work. Atleast Dan went and warmed up my van for me.

Project 2010 days 7 and 8

Day 7
Because of the fact that we are experiencing one of our longer cold streaks Dan decided we needed some good old fashioned homeade chicken noodle soup.

Day 8
Dan was just introduced to bejeweled on Facebook, and he is quickly becoming addicted. I may even have to open him his own Facebook account.....who would have ever dreamed it.

I cannot we actually have a slight chance of flurries...yes snow flurries in Florida. I hope it stays nice and cool.. this weather is so refreshing...and there is not much else do except scrap, which is where I will be spending my day tomorrow.

Project 2010 days 5 and 6

Day 5
Amanda has decided not to have ramen noodles for breakfast everyday.....she has changed to rice. This also cover the word nourish off this month's photo hunt list.

Day 6
Was not the best of days in our household, everyone seemed to be moody and on edge. We did make it to the mall to exchange Kimmy's shoes. I wish the other ones had fit. Both girls ended up with some wild new shoes. Kimmy got some paint splatter RocketDogs and Amanda got these funky velcro palid things.
I had planned on getting some scrapping done for the Sketchy Thursday sketch and the newest Mission Creaet, but that just did not happen.Tthe house including the girls room is clean and I mean deep clean. so next week, move over everything scrappy table here I come!

I did have a reveal over at ACOT this week. I had a great time working with the Sweet Love line by Best Creation. You can check it out the full reveal here.

Project 2010...day 4

We spent most of the day cleaning the garage......yeah! We can actually see the floor, though not park the car in it, not that we ever planned to in the first place. I can now get to the washer and dryer without stepping on anything! Should have taken some before and after pictures, but I would have been to embarrassed to share them with anyone.
As the day was drawing to and end I realized i still had not taken my photo yet, so I grabbed my camera and was off to get some pics. I got this one of my dd texting away..her favorite past time lately.

on this road of blogging and photographing and scrapping..... I have every intention of and am totally committed to completing Project 2010.... basically a project 365 in which I will take a photograph every single day in 2010 to document our lives and the world in which we live.
I am very aware of the fact that I may not get to blog them every day....but will be posting them at least weekly. That way I know I have someplace to fall back, should I get bogged down in my daily life....as I am trying to live it, simplify it, and yet still enjoy it.

Along the way you will see many layouts, cards and altered projects. I have found a few new challenge and sketch blogs that I adore and am following closely. I hope you enjoy this coming year as I hope to, and I hope it brings good things to everyone.
